about this ebook

Activate users, drive adoption, and create customer delight. Those tenets are at the core of product-led growth, and your product experience should always serve them. It starts with a successful product onboarding. Be welcoming, personalizing what you can. Demonstrate value and provide plenty of helpful info, from product walkthroughs to new user checklists. As their journey continues, make use of in-app announcements and messaging to make the sell on features, upgrades, and updates. But there's still a long way to go from there.

What we loved:

This free ebook on creating a stellar product experience delivers on its promise in a beautifully simple way

What we didn't love:

The constant plugs for Appcues made this feel more like a promotional piece and left us questioning whether these suggestions are really best practices or just the best ways to get people to sign up for Appcues

Summary:

If you’re a PLG company looking to take your user experience from fright to delight, this is the product-led growth playbook for you. Ordinarily, we’d think twice before recommending something so promotional, but Appcues does a pretty good job of visually separating the promotional parts from the advice parts. We skipped all the “if you’re an Appcues customer” boxes and still feel like we now have a much more solid understanding of user onboarding, improving feature adoption, running in-app marketing campaigns, and collecting user feedback.
