This ebook lays out simple prioritization techniques to strengthen your strategy, set clear objectives, and track actionable metrics. No more going around in a circle asking how to prioritize the product backlog. Step-by-step directions will teach you how to form a product vision, develop your prioritization framework, and evaluate its success after implementation.

about this ebook

A product prioritization plan that’s poorly defined is barely better than no plan at all. It’s important to do more than just pick a single framework to execute on. You and the team need to be on the same page about it, or you'll still end up being bossed around by support and sales requests, trusting someone’s gut over analysis, or chasing your competitors’ features. Prioritize collaboratively across the organization. As you develop your framework, ask yourselves: What makes a feature more or less important? Who gets input and who holds the final decisions? Are you currently aligned on priorities, and have those priorities actually been serving the overall business goals?

What we loved:

The step-by-step playbook that will make it easy for even the most novice product manager to develop a prioritization process.

What we didn't love:

This free ebook on product prioritization covers a lot of ground, but doesn’t go deep enough into any one topic to make a meaningful impact.

Summary:

Unlike Mastering Prioritization, which focuses on choosing a prioritization framework, this free guide acts like more of a roadmap for building your prioritization process. It’s a dense page after page of definitions and information interspersed with tips and things to watch out for. And while the design makes readability much better, this ebook falls into our “Game of Thrones” pile—skip a word and you might find yourself completely lost. (Except the chapter on the importance of prioritization. You already knew all that, right?)
