about this ebook

There are a million ways to build a strong B2B marketing team, or are there? Here are Teamwork’s top seven. First of all, if you're choosing between a hire with better skills or one who fits in better, hire for culture fit. Skills can ultimately be taught. Then, keep members accountable by laying out the bottom line and making everyone's goals clear. Feedback, whether positive or critical, shouldn't wait for a quarterly roundup. Deliver it ASAP so people can course correct (or enjoy the moment). As always, collaborate with sales to get results, and manage your projects with a sound strategy in mind.

What we loved:

The focus on storytelling and interviews. Who better to say what makes a great marketing team than a CMO or senior marketer? Especially one from a big name like Salesforce, ExactTarget and LeanData.

What we didn't love:

Like some others that rely very heavily on interviews, this free ebook sacrifices actionability for storytelling, and not in a good way (read: platitudes)

Summary:

This free ebook takes what you (hopefully) already know about building a great B2B marketing team and packages it into 7 digestible tips.

The storytelling is solid and we genuinely enjoyed reading the free ebook, but for those short on time, this won’t offer you any lightbulb moments.

We would have loved to see a table of contents, especially given the length. There were some linked dots on the side of the pages that made the book somewhat easier to navigate.
