about this ebook

An effective business budget is necessarily a strategic one. You'll know best how to create your annual budget by first looking at overall business goals. Understand what you'd like to optimize for — like greater growth, better performance, or just plain old cost effectiveness — and then allocate toward those priorities. If you need to scale, for example, build the budget around hiring and development costs. If you need to hit sales targets, invest in your product and departments that directly support the customer.

Summary:

We were excited to open this high-level guide on strategic budgeting, mostly because of how pretty it is. But we were disappointed when we started reading. Taking out the page on top-down vs. bottom-up budgeting (which was fairly useful), the free ebook can be summed up in one sentence: tailor your budget to your goals 🤯
