What we loved:

This free startup guide from Harvard University has a decidedly formal slant to it. A lot of advice for starting a business helps you understand how to just jump in and wing it — but because this is geared toward people with a lot of resources on hand (ie, access to the Harvard Office of Technology Development), it makes sure to touch on things like IP and patents, valuation and equity, and how to pitch to investors.

What we didn't love:

Obviously if you don't have access to the Harvard OTD, you won't be able to follow some of the specific advice or launch steps described here. It's not actually geared toward any other audience; we're just able to derive some value from it as well.
