about this ebook

Quality of hire drives business outcomes, so you need to set up your quality of hire KPI. And for that, you’re going to need math. This is a how-to broken down to granular levels, providing the specific frameworks you’ll need to measure quality of hire. To create a quality index, start with straightforward metrics you should already have: initial retention numbers, the time it takes to fill a position, and how satisfied your hiring managers are with the candidate. You can also take into account ramp-up time, employee engagement, and how well they fit into your workplace culture.

What we loved:

While this free ebook for talent acquisition specialists didn’t have any actual DIY parts, it did go through formulas and a defined workflow for improving the quality of hire.

What we didn't love:

We’re big believers of shorter is better when it comes to free ebooks, but this one takes it a bit too far. It reads more like a blog post than a meaty thought leadership piece.

Summary:

On paper, this free ebook checked most of the boxes for what we consider a good ebook: it was quick to read, decently organized, referenced surveys and studies, and suggested formulas for calculating the quality of a hire.

Unfortunately, that’s all it did. Call us spoiled, but when we download an ebook, we expect something a little extra. Something that feels nice. Given its length at layout, this free guide would have done much better as a blog post.

Worth a read if you’re looking to assess the quality of a hire, but manage your expectations.
